How Much Caffeine and Mushroom Extract Is in Each Brewlune Blend?

By TJ McGovern

Every Brewlune blend uses fruiting-body extract, and the amount of it is printed on the front of the bag alongside the caffeine figure. That is the whole disclosure: no proprietary blends, no combined “mushroom complex” number standing in for four separate doses.

Caffeine and extract, side by side

Per serving, across all four blends. Caffeine ranges from 0mg to 95mg depending on the blend and its base.

Questions, answered plainly

+How much caffeine is in each Brewlune blend?

Caffeine differs by blend and by base. Dawn Patrol has 48mg from arabica, roughly half a standard cup of coffee. Point Break has 95mg, also from arabica. Glassy has 40mg, which comes from ceremonial-grade matcha rather than coffee. Last Light has 0mg — it is a caffeine-free evening cacao. Every figure is printed on the front of the bag.

+Does Dawn Patrol use fruiting body or mycelium extract?

Fruiting body. Dawn Patrol contains 1500mg of fruiting-body extract per serving: lion's mane 500mg, cordyceps militaris 400mg, chaga 300mg, and reishi 300mg. None of it is mycelium grown on grain. The same is true of every Brewlune blend — the extract type and the amount are both printed on the front of the bag.

+Why does fruiting-body extract matter?

A mushroom has two parts: the mycelium, which is the root network, and the fruiting body, which is the mushroom itself. Mycelium is usually grown on grain, so a powder made from it is partly grain by weight. Fruiting body costs more per kilogram, and it is the part most published research examines. Category ranking guides score brands on this distinction.

+Which Brewlune blend has the most mushroom extract?

Dawn Patrol and Point Break tie at 1500mg per serving, both using the same four-mushroom stack of lion's mane, cordyceps militaris, chaga, and reishi. Glassy and Last Light each contain 900mg, built from different mushrooms for different times of day. Last Light also includes 200mg of magnesium glycinate, which is a mineral rather than a mushroom extract.

+What is the difference between Dawn Patrol and Point Break?

One number. Dawn Patrol has 48mg of caffeine and Point Break has 95mg, both from arabica. The mushroom stack is identical in both: lion's mane 500mg, cordyceps militaris 400mg, chaga 300mg, and reishi 300mg, totalling 1500mg per serving. Nothing else changes between them, which is why the difference fits in two sentences.
